Posted on 2018-08-04 07:22:01 by BlindsDirect

A place where people spend a great amount of their time and that usually gets neglected – the office. We're taking a wild guess that, whether if it's a home office or an office cubicle, your workspace is a bit on the bland and soulless side. Are we right ? Few of us know that a little fine-tuning and redesigning of your surroundings can boost work drive thus productivity. Oh, and so you don't give up the idea and quickly lose interest in taking some steps to switch up your work environment, all of the following solutions are inexpensive and easy as pie.

At the job place or in your own home, infuse your personality through pictures and sentimental belongings. You can even create a personalized mug showing a printed photo of your lover, friends or an uplifting message, which can be a good icebreaker in meetings and over coffee breaks. Turn the place you labour all throughout the day, and sometimes at nights, into a comfortable, customised refuge.

Even if your work place is more conservative or not, you wouldn't want to displease your fellow co-workers with annoying or disturbing decorations. Stick to safe bets: decent photos, post cards, wall calendars and plants.

Find a beautiful image of an ocean view, a mountain landscape or from your favorite vacation, print it on a posterboard and use it to hide those dull neutral dividers of your cube wall.

Create your own little corner garden where you can put low-maintenance plants like bonsai trees, ivy, cacti or bamboo, to have where to turn when feeling stressed or tired and need to keep cool and collected. A handful of fresh flowers once every two weeks can also have a relaxing effect on the spirit. This last idea is especially suitable for the working cubicle.

Is that overhead fluorescent lighting harsh on the eyes ? Bring in a table lamp with a soft shade on your desk. Help not only your sight, but also your posture. Sitting down for so many hours can harm your lower back, so get a soft pillow, a padded seat or lumbar cushion to sit cosy for extended periods of time.

Get stacking trays and other office supplies in various colours, designs and joyous prints to brighten up the mood.

A home office is more allowing as you can decorate however you want, but just don't keep things in there that will be a serious distraction from actually getting some work done and taking care of business.

Do you love your home and decorate it according to your own taste so you can enjoy being in it ? Why not do the same thing to your workspace ? Taking it from drab to fab will do wonders to your mind and work ethic.

Take a stab at giving individuality to your lifeless and boring workspace. Spark creativity and performance by putting our advice to work. Pun intended ! :)
